Related Arts Programs 

Mission: The mission of the visual and performing arts and related arts programs of Darlington County School District is to provide every child standards-based, creative experiences in an educational environment rich in the arts and movement, allowing them to create, discover, express, and develop a lifelong involvement in the arts and other disciplines.

We envision and believe that:

1. Through quality related arts instruction, the related arts will aid in the development of the whole child by instilling discipline, cooperation, teamwork, and responsibility.

2. Education in the arts and physical education extends beyond the boundaries of the school; therefore, students should have access to experiences in the areas of auditions, exhibitions, competitions, performances, supplemental lessons & practices and other quality experiences regardless of socioeconomic factors.

3. An arts infused curriculum provides opportunities for all children to learn through different modalities and multiple intelligences.

4. A related arts education is an indispensable part of the total curriculum that leads to the development of all students through integration of the arts and movement into core curriculum subjects.

5. In order for students to become informed consumers and/or providers of the arts, students must have access to state-of-the art classrooms, facilities, and technologies.
