Dear Parents,
On behalf of the Darien Advocates for the Education of the Gifted (DAEG), welcome! DAEG is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote excellent education for both our gifted students and all students throughout Darien. To that end, we support both Darien’s Idea Program (Darien’s gifted education program) and Darien’s public school system as a whole through a variety of means:
*Social activities and information-sharing events for DAEG members and their families at the elementary and middle school level to foster relationship building and to develop a sense of community.
*Round table discussions with Darien’s Idea Program Director Julie Droller for interested parents.
*Annual guest speaker/luncheon on the various needs and opportunities available for gifted students.
*SAT preparation for 7th graders interested in applying to various advanced summer programs such as the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY).
*Significant annual grants available for any and all qualified Darien Public School teachers and para-professionals for professional enhancement.
Becoming involved in DAEG is a great way for you to be connected and make a difference, and we welcome all who are interested! For more information on being a part of DAEG and to join our mailing list for periodic communications and invitations to events, please visit the DAEG Website or contact the Co-Presidents with any questions at admin@daeg.org. We look forward to meeting you!
