Musicians who have been selected will participate in rehearsals on April 27-28, 2017 at Trumbull High School with other talented string students from all over Fairfield County. Their hard work with renowned and inspiring conductors will culminate in a concert on April 28th, 2017 at Trumbull High School It is truly an honor to be a performer in this festival and an invaluable musical experience for young string players.
If you are auditioning for honors, your score will be considered for the grade level ensembles as well (No one should be preparing for both auditions).

What should I do to prepare?
Listen to each piece pertaining to your instrument carefully from the list of audition requirements.
Choose a piece that you both find interesting and believe is suited to your ability level. (I can give you recommendations.
Listen more to your piece- sing along, familiarize yourself with it before you jump in.
Find and print/purchase your sheet music: Most of the audition pieces are free to download using a resource called the International Music Score Library Project. Learn more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xz5j9ysx50
-Sometimes, modern edition's (which cost money) are helpful because the offer more information. But the free edition should get you started. I am working on putting together a Google Folder full of each piece that I can share with you.
