Daily Participation Rubric
Physical activity is critical to the development and maintenance of good health. The goal of PE is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. We want to empower students to lead as many adventures as possible in life.
Student participation grades are based on a holistic approach. The majority of a student’s grade is derived from their daily active participation in the classroom setting. For this reason, students need to actively participate in all class activities to earn credit towards the performance portion of their grade. In order to participate, students need to be dressed appropriately for physical activity, including gym uniform and footwear. Students can then maximize their daily grade through active participation, engagement in skill development, and demonstration of appropriate social behaviors (respect, sportsmanship, etc.).
