Core Purpose
To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Headteacher.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and appropriately deal with all incoming communications to the Headteacher (post/telephone/electronic) by forwarding/acknowledging/prioritising or drafting responses
Provide a confidential secretarial and clerical support relating to all aspects of the Headteacher’s work including diary management, correspondence, records, databases for whole school events, meetings, exclusions and HR administration
Ensure the Headteacher is briefed for all meetings with relevant correspondence, documents/presentations and in the Headteacher’s absence refer matters to relevant member of Senior Leadership Team for action, prompting action points from line management meetings where required
Oversee and organise all hospitality and technology needs for meetings and events/functions
Liaise with all stakeholders, including parents/carers, school board, central services at the Danes Educational Trust, staff, students, general public, trade unions, government departments, local authority
Provide support to the Chair and Clerk to the School Board as required
Work closely with the Headteacher with the preparation of the termly Headteacher’s Report to the School Board
Act as the school’s policy officer, ensuring that all policies are reviewed and updated as necessary
Work closely with the Headteacher and the school’s HR Business Partner and HR Coordinator to ensure human resources and recruitment and retention are prioritised and addressed, as well as setting up interviews and ensuring all paperwork/refreshments are available
Maintain confidentiality at all times as well as completing all tasks with due regard to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
Act as Data Protection Officer, ensure school practice remains GDPR compliant including monitoring internal compliance, informing and advising on data protection obligations, providing advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments and act as a contact point
Other responsibilities
Working closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers to provide highly effective administrative support for permanent exclusions, liaising with the Clerk to the School Board, Resources and Communications Officer, Local Authority and Inclusion Team as required
Line management of the Administrator to the Senior Leadership Team

Additional Information
All staff are required to participate in training and other learning activities and in performance management and development as required by the Trust’s policies and practices.
