Auditions are required for anyone that would like to be a member of the Vibe  Dance Company for the 26/27 season.

Our audition process is not about “cutting” dancers, but rather assessing a dancers’  progress, age, current technique level, and ability to learn choreography in order to place them into groups for the season. If we do not feel your dancer is ready to be a part of VIBE for the upcoming season, we will have a personal conversation with a parent to  discuss options.

What To Wear for Auditions:

Please wear a colored leotard (not black) and black FITTED leggings. Hair pulled up & out of the face.  Dancers need to bring ballet, tap, hip hop & jazz shoes.

VIBE Auditioners should arrive early enough to Check in, Get Number, make sure  “paperwork is set” & warm up on their own.

MINIS Tuesday, May 19 | 5:30-6:45p (ages 6-9) - Please arrive 15 mins early to check in.

The audition will include a Ballet, & Jazz Combo. Please be prepared to demonstrate the following Jazz Skills: 

Battements Devant/Alternating Chasses/Leaps - Right and Left /Single Pirouettes both R and L/ Splits Right and Left. These will be executed ATF and dancer should be using proper technique and Portabra for execution. Aerials welcomed as a bonus not required, Dancers that can execute proper Double Pirouettes is a bonus.

JUNIORS Tuesday, May 19 | 6:45-9:00p (ages 10-12) - Please arrive 15 mins early to check in.

The audition will include a Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Jazz Combo.  Please be prepared to demonstrate the following Jazz Skills: 

Battements/Leaps - Right, and Left /Side Leap, Right and Left /Double and Triple Pirouettes both R and L/Turning Jete/Calypso - Right, Left. These will be executed ATF and dancer should be using proper technique and Portabra for execution/ Splits Right and Left. Aerials welcomed as a bonus not required.

9:00-9:30pm Jr Solos  - This is only required for Junior dancers requesting a SPECIAL. This audition solo should be No longer than 1 min.  MUST be self-choreographed and should contain provided elements. Elements are listed on VIBE hub. Solo Music must be emailed to vibedanceokc@gmail.com by May 17. If music is not received by May 17 dancers must provide an electronic device to play the music from. 

SENIORS Wednesday, May 20 |5:30-9:00p (Ages 16-18) - Please arrive 15 mins early to check in.

The audition will include a Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Jazz Combo. Please be prepared to demonstrate the following Jazz Skills: 

Battements/Leaps - Right and Left /Side Leap, Right and Left /Triple/Quad Pirouettes both R and L/Turning Jete/Calypso - Right, Left. These will be executed ATF and dancer should be using proper technique and Portabra for execution. Aerials (bonus not required)

We will end the audition with Solos  - Required for all auditioning Senior level dancers. No longer than 1 min.  MUST be self-choreographed and should contain provided elements.  Elements are listed on VIBE hub. Solo Music must be emailed to vibedanceokc@gmail.com by May 17. If music is not received by May 17 dancers must provide an electronic device to play the music from. 

TEENS Thursday, May 21 |5:30-9:00p (Ages 13-15) - Please arrive 15 mins early to check in. 

The audition will include a Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Jazz Combo.  Please also be prepared to demonstrate the following Jazz Skills: 

Battements/Leaps - Right and Left /Side Leap, Right and Left /Triple/Quad Pirouettes both R and L/Turning Jete/Calypso - Right, Left. These will be executed ATF and dancer should be using proper technique and Portabra for execution. Aerials welcomed as a bonus not required.
