The Visual Arts Department, spanning from First Program to High School, offers a cohesive and progressive curriculum designed to build foundational skills in artistic techniques while fostering creativity and self-expression. From early exposure to various mediums and tools, students gradually explore their individual interests, learning to articulate their ideas visually. Throughout the program, they engage with both current and historical global artists, developing critical thinking and an understanding of diverse artistic perspectives. By High School level, students are prepared to refine and elevate their artistic pursuits, with opportunities to immerse themselves in advanced studies such as AP Studio Art or explore specialized fields like Fashion Design.
The Visual Arts Department hosts several exhibitions throughout the year, including the Winter and Spring Art Shows, where students showcase their work across various mediums. These events highlight their creativity and progress, allowing them to share their artistic achievements with the community. Additionally, the department organizes a Silent Art Auction, with proceeds benefiting Freedom Speakers International, a charity supporting North Korean refugees. Students learn about the commercial side of monetizing artwork, in addition to the blending of artistic expression with social impact.
