Even an hour of your time is greatly appreciated.
There are two main ways to help; working on prepping materials (when it suits your schedule) and helping to hang student artwork (set days/times working with me in the hallway)
Art Volunteering Opportunities:
Art Preparations (All year):
Generally tasks will worked on in the upstairs near the Art Room. Tasks include: Cutting and assembling paper panels, cutting paper for projects and name tags, etc... Most tasks do not require art skills. You are welcome to come in whenever it suits your schedule.
Displaying Artwork (All year):
-Artwork will be displayed throughout the year as students finish. Dates/times will be communicated once there is work to be hung. Most likely will be a morning or an afternoon. There may be a whole day or two as the Art Show approaches or if there is a lot of Artwork to go up at once. The main task is making lots of tape donuts so the artwork can be hung up (pieces of tape rolled in a circle that go on the back of the artwork).
Art Show Set-Up( May 4th, May 5th and May 6th All Day, plus some days prior in April ):
-Work with me to help set-up the final details of the Art Show. Tasks will include moving things, hanging things, setting up, etc... Art skills are not required for most tasks and I am usually working right with you.
End of Year/Art Show Clean-Up (~May 12th-last day of school):
-Help take down artwork and displays, put display materials way, and help to wrap up any other art related items in classroom or hallways.
