Estonia General Assembly Welcome Speech by Anisa:
So much to celebrate! Every resolution they presented was passed in committee and will now be shared with the real United Nations! Everett's resolution on Road Salt Use and Sravya's skill as a debater were recognized in the closing ceremony.
Congratulations to Emma (CSW) for presenting on Increasing Women's Participation in Politics, Lucia (WHO) for presenting on Combating Infant Mortality in the Context of Covid 19, Silke (HRC) for presenting on Police Brutality, Everett (UNEP) for presenting on Road Salt Use, and Sravya (GA & UNICEF) for presenting on Childhood Vaccines in the Context of COVID 19.
Special congratulations to Anisa, who was asked to join the Security Council representing Estonia just a week before the conference. She had to learn a new committee, country and write a new resolution. She spent several hours each day to prepare. Anisa was able to address her committee with an extremely relevant topic, calling for a General and Immediate Cessation of Hostilities in Israel for the Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict.
Enjoy!
