Present students with pictures relating to the learning goal and have them respond to these (or similar prompts):
What do you notice? (1-2 things you see)
What do you wonder? (questions you have)

Word Cloud Learning Goal

Option 1:
Present students with the learning goal and success criteria for the lesson and have them identify the key vocab.
Have students respond to a Poll Everywhere with the vocab words they identified and it will create a word cloud!
Option 2:
Create a word cloud (I use monkeylearn) by pasting the text of the standard (or key text) into the word cloud generator.
Have students view the word cloud and respond to these (or similar) prompts:
Identify 1-2 terms YOU KNOW in the word cloud
Define (key vocab word in the word cloud)
Write your own learning goal for today by identifying 1-2 terms YOU DON’T KNOW and using those to complete the sentence
