Students can self-assess their mastery and understanding of the learning goal and success criteria before, during and after a lesson.
Self-Assessment allows students to continually reflect on what they know and don’t know related to the learning goal and success criteria and what steps they need to take to achieve mastery!
Asks students at the end: “Can you [success criteria]”?
Students begin thinking about their learning and practicing metacognition.
Helps students monitor their learning as a step to owning their learning.
