Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment
Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment is a comprehensive school readiness screener to be given to kindergarten students. It is a progress monitoring tool for beginning-, middle-, and end-of-year; designed to inform instruction and provides links to classroom activities.
Assessment Course Performance
Assessments of Course Performance (ACPs) are created with a collaboration between Assessment Department and Teaching and Learning. ACPs are used each semester in grades 3 through 12 as part of the student summative evaluation. ACPs are created for courses in Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Spanish Reading/Language Arts, and Science. Test results are summarized and presented on MyData Portal. District and campus administrators as well as teachers use the ACP results to make instructional decisions.
Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment
TELPAS is an assessment program for students in Texas public schools who are learning the English language. The letters in TELPAS stand for the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System. The Texas Education Agency developed TELPAS to meet state and federal requirements. Texas annually assesses the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as English learners (ELs) in four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. TELPAS evaluates the progress that each EL makes in becoming proficient in the use of academic English.
