Many people say that dogs are “man's best friend”. It is proven that dogs and many other animals can help with so many emotions, such as anxiety, stress, and even social connection with other people. Our furry friends make us happy. Any pet, such as dogs, birds, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits and many others can improve life tremendously. For young children, having animals in their lives can help improve their social and emotional skills. Dogs can make a big impact on life.
Having pets is a lot of work, especially for those with kids, but there are many factors that kids can do to help take care of that animal. When picking the perfect animal, families have to make certain considerations. According to PetMd by Chewy, potential pet owners should consider the following: the life span of the pet, space needs, care requirements, health care costs, and what children want when interacting with their pets. Many families get dogs for their family pets. I have three dogs right now. One is a new puppy and she has helped my family a lot. Even though puppies are a lot of work and responsibility, if the whole family pitches in and helps out, then it can all work out.
Not only can pets improve a child's life, but they can also improve the life of an individual. Pets can have so many health benefits, not only for mental health but also for physical health. Pets need a lot of attention, especially dogs. They need to get out a lot of energy and it is the owner's responsibility to take them on walks, to a dog park, or to play outside-- all activities that can also improve the owner's health. Pets also help mental health. They know when humans are sad or mad and they want to make people feel better. When people get injured, they know and they want to help. That is why emotional support dogs are often brought to hospitals. According to Alliance Therapy Dogs, “They help provide companionship and comfort to hospital patients and staff. Certified therapy dogs are accompanied by their handlers at the hospital.” Their job is to be there and support humans by letting people pet them and giving comfort. Any pet can do that. They tend to make people feel better-- no matter the circumstances.
Lots of pets are great for humans, while others are not. However, choosing the right one for your family will lead to everything working out. My family adores our animals. We have three dogs, one fish, and one bird. They all play a part in our family and we do not know what we would do without them. Our dogs know when we need them and are always there. Having pets will be the best decision of your life, especially if you can support them and give them everything they need. Animals will love and support humans. We should all give the same to them.
