McDonald’s is the crown of the childhood experience. Hearing the magical words in the car: “What do you want from McDonald’s?” brings joy to any kid. But what is the most effective way to get a lot of food and the cheapest way to get it?
If we are judging how much food we can get by the total amount of calories it contains, then we can judge the amount of calories in the meal by its labeled. When discussing the way to get the best amount of food for the hard-earned cash in the American people’s wallet, we will be using three different menu items: a Big Mac meal, a 10 piece nugget meal, and a McDouble, McChicken, Medium fries and drink.
First off, the crown staple of McDonald’s: the Big Mac meal. The total meal consists of one Big Mac, a medium fry, and a medium drink. In this example, we will keep everything the same and have the drink be a Dr.Pepper. The total amount of calories for the meal would be 1070 calories and a total amount of $7.79. The other possible way to order would be to purchase each item individually.
When ordering all of the items separately, instead of getting a medium drink, you could get a large, since all drinks are a dollar. The calories would stay the same, but the total cost would be $7.28, which would be more expensive than ordering the meal. Another possible way to order this would be with the Classic Big Mac pack. For $14.99, this pack contains two Big Macs, twenty nuggets, and two medium fries. This deal, on paper, sounds amazing because it is.
The normal price for all of these items separately would be a total of $16.56 so, with this deal, there would be a total saving of $1.56, but what you Scroll readers are here for is to find the way to get the cheapest Big Mac. When ordering this pack, on average, each Big Mac would be worth $3.49 and a fry would be $1.99. Then, the nuggets would be worth $3.43. The cost of a Big Mac and a fry would be a combined total of $5.48, which is $0.51 cheaper than the original Big Mac combo, meaning that the Big Mac pack would be the cheapest option if it didn't cost $14.99 to purchase.
Next is the 10 piece nugget, for $7.39, which will contain 940 calories. This price makes the nuggets equate to a total of $0.73 per nugget. The alternate way to purchase the nuggets would be to either order the items individually or get a 6-piece and a 4-piece.
When purchasing them individually, the total amount of that would be $6.68. Purchasing the six-piece and four-piece together would cost $7.86. Buying all of the items individually would be the best way to buy the nuggets, but when buying without fries, the six-piece and four-piece would be the absolute offer because then it would only cost $5.96, which is a significantly better deal.
The final menu item we will be comparing today are multiple options from the one two three dollar menu. They are a McChicken, McDouble, medium fry, and a large Dr.Pepper. All of these items would cost $8.06 and would contain 1320 calories. This, on paper, seems like the best offer because it’s only roughly eight dollars for 1300 calories.
For the calorie amount, the Classic Big Mac pack would be the best option. That’s for two Big Macs, fries, and twenty nuggets, but that would be cheating. The winner for the most calories would be the McChicken and McDouble, but that is also the most expensive. For the affordability category, the individual nuggets win, mainly because it would only cost $6.68, which is the cheapest for the meal standard we are using to judge the items.
Finally the most affordable and filling meal is the nugget meal. The reason that I am selecting this to be the most affordable is because, when taking the smaller bites of the nuggets, it will make you feel full sooner. Along with the fries, which are all individual foods, the fries, nuggets and drink will all fill you up.
In summary, the 10-piece nugget meal will always be the cheapest and most effective way to satisfy your hunger. Even though I didn’t compare all the menu items, I compared the most commonly-bought menu items. Even if the nuggets aren’t you Scroll readers thing, always remember that, whatever you get at McDonald’s, you’ll be loving it.
