Drinking Water Poster Contest

By Abe J. Selvas

OVERVIEW:

Welcome to Spring Scholars! It is a new blossoming season with even more blossoming opportunity! This month is the city's "2nd Annual Drinking Water Week Poster Contest" for all grades: K-12. A winner will be picked for each grade-- a 100 dollar cash prize to 13 students, chosen by the judging panel. Winners of this contest will be selected via their poster's qualifications in the areas of originality, theme, relevance, and creativity.

Here is a quick rundown of vital information:

  • The deadline for the submission of a poster will be the last day of April (Friday the 30th) at 5:00 p.m.

  • Each applicant gets only one submission (no spamming posters into City Hall's Mailbox)

  • The poster must be designed by your physical hands on a physical piece of paper (8 1/2 x 11, just grab some paper from a printer).

  • When you submit your poster, it will then become the property of the City of Grants Pass, and the winning posters will be spotlighted in the GPNow social media and be acknowledged at the city council meeting. Along with the poster, applicants must fill out a release form (pictured and linked below) for the application to be accepted.

APPLICATION:

As stated earlier, the posters will be evaluated on the creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme of this year. The theme is... drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁 "There when you need it." Odd? Yes. Extremely open to interpretation? Of course. That's the point! This is what scholarly application is all about! Your bright minds will find a way to use this thread and weave your paper masterpiece. Be unique and creative. Take things to the max. Don't forget to print out the form and fill it out and, once again, remember to use the other form at the bottom of the page to provide some feedback.

Until next time, work hard--and good luck!
