ICC DUAL CREDIT & 

WORK BASED LEARNING

Tremont High School has a partnership with Illinois Central College(ICC) the Peoria Educational Region for Employment and Career Training(PERFECT) to offer students multiple opportunities to earn college credit or work experience while still being in high school. 

Dual Credit

Illinois Central College and Tremont High School offer the following courses so that students have the opportunity to earn college credit while taking advanced high school classes. These classes are taught by a Tremont teacher. Students must meet ICC requirements to be enrolled in these classes. Students enrolled in these classes will pay a $50.00 fee (excluding students who qualify for free and reduced lunch). Fees for these courses are set by ICC and are subject to change. 


The following Dual Credit classes are offered:


Senior Composition I (ENGL 110)

Senior Composition II (ENGL 111)

Art Appreciation (ART 110)

Early Western Civilization (HIS 117)

Modern Western Civilization (HIS 118)



Online Dual Credit (Early College)

These courses are college-level courses that are only available to high school junior or senior students. The students will earn college credit and high school credit. These are online classes taught by ICC instructors. Students report to the learning center during their designated block to work on these classes. Classes are semester long and the students will need to purchase their own textbooks. Fees for these courses are set by ICC and are subject to change, but are significantly discounted when registration occurs through the high school. The availability of these courses is subject to change, as determined by ICC

Work-Based Learning Opportunities

Work Based Learning is designed for the Junior and/or Senior students interested in pursuing careers in vocational occupations.  Students are released from school for their paid cooperative education work experience and participate in 200 minutes per week of related classroom instruction.  Classroom instruction focuses on providing students with job survival skills and career exploration skills related to the job and improving students' abilities to interact positively with others.  For skills related to the job, refer to the skill development course outlines and the task list of the desired occupational program.


The following WBL opportunities are offered:


Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA) Program         

Production Welding Program         

Emergency Medical Services and Fire Science Program 

PERFECT Construction Program
