Tuesday Newsday

The purpose of Tuesday Newsday is to increase the amount of nonfiction that students read within our reading program, further expand students’ reading repertoire, work on summarizing non-fiction text, as well as read current events.

Students will be asked to bring in a newspaper or magazine article to share with the class. The subject matter should be appropriate for the grade level audience.

In 5th grade, Tuesday Newsday is elevated. Students are asked to select two articles on similar topics. Students are working to synthesize the information in the two articles into one summary.
