Vocal Ensembles
Lincoln Choir
We have 3 extracurricular vocal ensembles at Lincoln! One for 6th grade students, one for 7th and 8th grade students, and one for all 3 grades! Show Choir meets once a week for an hour after school, while each chorus meets for 2 hours a week after school. 6th grade chorus meets on Thursdays and Fridays, while 7/8 Singers meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thursdays for both groups are sectional rehearsals (meet in student led small groups based on vocal part) and they each have their own, full ensemble rehearsal.
We collaborate with the teachers and students at Emerson Middle School for both concerts and we also travel to Six Flags Great America for Song in the Parks to sing in a contest!
Choir at Maine South
Choir at Maine South is a year-long, one credit course that students take daily. Students learn to sing with proper technique and how to read music while singing a variety of styles. There are after school auditioned ensembles as well as opportunities to travel with choir.
