Industry Opportunities

All Culinary students at GJHS are provided the opportunity to earn industry credentials to support them getting jobs in industry. Level 1 Culinary students can earn their Food Handler License and Level 2 & 3 students can earn their ServSafe Manager Certification. 

All students who are interested in furthering their skills in their chosen FCS Pathway have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work based learning placements. These opportunities allow students to get real world industry experience both paid and unpaid. Examples of previous and ongoing placements are: Barista at the Roar & Pour Coffee Cart (GJHS & Kiln Coffee); Culinary placements at local supporting restaurants like Fidels, Cafe Sol, Peche; Teaching/Mentoring placements at a local elementary school etc.
