With track season over, we want to highlight some of the successes. This season will be the last season at this Fruita Middle School building. We've interviewed a couple of students to see what their thoughts are on the start of the Track season. We have interviewed Bailei Ozimek (7th grade), Kinley Hamlin (7th grade), Alivia Hopkins (7th grade) Davis Hardee (7th grade). We have asked them a few questions.
FMS Times: "Why did you start doing track?"
Bailei said, "I watched my sister do it and It looked really fun." Kinley said, " I've always had an interest into running." Davis answered " I went to a lot of my sister's track meets and it looked interesting. I also would do the jumping event at my sister's meets." Alivia answered, "I like running and jumping."
FMS Times "How long have you been doing track?"
Bailei answered, " This is my first year." Kenley said, "This is my 1st year." Davis answered, " This is my first year, but sometimes I would do it at my sister's meets." Alivia said, " I just started this year."
FMS Times" What is the hardest things about track?"
Bailei answered, "The workouts are very hard." Davis said, " Pacing yourself." Alivia said, "Arching you back for a high jump."
FMS Times: "When are your practices and how long are they?"
Bailei, Kinley, Davis, and Alivia all said, " Every day we have practice and everyday it's 1 hour and 30 minutes long."
The track and field students at FMS are doing an amazing job. They are all putting their best effort. The track students had a very successful season. Thanks to Coach Blackwell for all of her amazing efforts and all the great atheletes on the FMS track team!
