Hello! My name is Malorie Dragonuk, and I am a Junior High English Language Arts teacher. This is my tenth year teaching here at Hiawatha, but it is my thirteenth year teaching. On top of teaching, I am also one of the coaches for our 3rd-5th grade Girls on the Run team.
I graduated in 2010 from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Along with that degree, I have endorsements in English, Reading, Social Sciences, and Science. I also have two Master's degrees. In 2020, I finished a Masters in Reading. In 2023, I completed a Masters in Currirculum and Instruction with a focus on Differentiated Instruction. That's just a fancy way of saying building lessons that allow students an opportunity to learn/show what they've learned in the way they best learn. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and I absolutely love sharing that passion with the students in our district.
I am the youngest of three daughters. The best part of having two older sisters is that now they have blessed me with five rambunctious nephews and one sassy niece! Being their Auntie is an absolute joy!
In my free time I love to bake, read, watch John Wayne movies, and spend time with friends and family.
