When a child attends full-day kindergarten, they receive more experiences that help them grow and develop academically and socially. These include things like lunch, recess, additional structured social play, and extra time to practice and reinforce their academic learning. They will attend 1 Art, 1 Music, 2 STEM, and 3 PE classes per week. Half-day kindergarten will have 1 Art, 1 Music, 1 STEM, and 2 PE classes per week. Half-day kindergarten students are assigned to either the AM or PM section.
At this time, we do not offer half-day kindergarten at Anderson School. Half-Day Kindergarten is located at another St. Charles Elementary School, and our students are transported there.
See the D303 Transportation Website for the most up-to-date information.
For students who are eligible to ride the bus, their route information (Locations and times) will be available on the Synergy Parent Website several days before school begins. For Kindergarten students who ride the school bus, we ensure a teacher walks them directly to their bus each day. PLEASE NOTE: A parent must be present at the bus stop for the driver to release a kindergarten student.
We have a fun playground area with basketball hoops, funnel ball, climbing equipment, slides, and a ton of green space. Students are taught recess games and encouraged to run and play independently under the supervision of our staff. Many of the social skills we teach are put into play during lunch and recess.
