FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS
February has flown by!
In Rollins’ class, students have been busy learning about and researching the 13 original colonies. Each student selected a colony to study and did a wonderful job presenting their research to the class. For our community trip, we enjoyed our annual visit to Portillo’s. The staff always take such great care of us and consistently go above and beyond to make our visit special. The students did an excellent job ordering and paying for their food independently.
Wilson’s and Zimmerman’s classes also made the most of this short month. They celebrated Valentine’s Day with a festive party filled with fun classroom activities. They were also treated to a special performance by the singing group Bella Voce. In addition, Wilson’s class took an exciting community trip to Cabela’s. Students participated in a scavenger hunt and enjoyed exploring the displays of animals and fish.
Zimmerman’s class enjoyed a virtual field trip to an ice festival, where they learned all about how ice sculptures are created. Students explored the carving process, the tools artists use, and the creativity involved in designing detailed sculptures. It was a fun and engaging experience that gave them a behind-the-scenes look.
