All DMS Music Ensembles have red polos as uniforms for our concerts.  These concert polos can now be purchased online on the D300 Webstore and will be part of our required concert uniform for chorus, band, and orchestra. 6th grade music ensemble members & any new 7th or 8th grade ensemble members should purchase a shirt. Students who are in two ensembles should only purchase ONE polo to be worn at all concerts. Students are welcome to use a polo handed down from siblings or friends, but please inform the music director if this is the case. The logo and shirt style will be maintained so students can continue to wear it for years to come. We also have limited extras  - if a student has outgrown their polo, they are welcome to check with their director to see if we have their size to swap out.

Our annual music fundraiser with Century Resources kicks off on Monday September 9th. Please look out for information that will be coming home from your child this day. Our annual fundraiser is a crucial component in helping our program thrive and strive in excellence. Funds go toward a multitudes of things including music, equipment, enrichment & outreach opportunities, guest artists/musicians, field trips, class resources, instruments etc. We are grateful for any support!

• The Veterans Day Band Concert will be on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00pm.  The event will be at DMS and will include the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Bands.

• The 8th Grade Band traveled to Jacobs High School to rehearse with Mr. Gnutek (JHS Band teacher).  Congratulations on a great clinic!

• The 7th Grade Band will travel to Dundee-Crown High School on Tuesday, October 8.  The 6th Grade Band will travel to Hampshire High School on Wednesday, October 30.  Visit store.d300.org to complete the permission slip.

• 8th grade Chorus students are preparing for the D300 Choral Festival which will take place on October 28th at the Hemmens Cultural Center. Our final combined song of the evening with all 8 schools will be in honor of Mr. Bishop. 

• Auditions for Bella Voce are underway and going well. The roster will be posted September 6th and the first rehearsal will occur September 10th! 

• The first Valiant Voices rehearsal will begin on Friday September 13th. VV is open to all boys who enjoy singing and meeting new friends along the way. The group will meet one morning a week.

• Please remind your singer that they should be prepared with their choral binder and pencil on a daily basis and should spit gum out before class begins.  

• 8th grade orchestra is preparing music for the D300 East Side Orchestra Festival which is 10/4/24. More information coming soon! 

• Lessons have already started. Please make sure that your students have a essential elements book and are prepared with their materials daily.
