Shelby has been coaching for 9 years and is in her 5th year as the head coach at Prospect High School. She is a biology teacher at Prospect, where she teaches Environmental Science and Oceanography, and also runs their peer tutoring program, sponsors zoology club, and works with ASB. In her free time, she studies Martial Arts and is on the board of the Illinois High School Cheerleading Coaches Organization. Her favorite parts of cheerleading are the Friday night lights and seeing her athletes develop confidence and passion for the sport.
Teddy is a cheerleading choreographer and instructor going into his 3nd year of coaching. He holds a bronze, silver, and gold championship title at UCA College Nationals. In his free time, he likes to workout and enjoy long walks with his pet labradoodle Mr. Blue. His favorite part of cheerleading is leaving a positive impact on athletes, assisting them to unlock lessons of the sport that will stick with them throughout life.
Chelsea is excited to begin her third year coaching Prospect Cheer, returning to the program she proudly calls home as an alum. Outside of cheer, she works full-time in a mental health private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Neurofeedback Clinician. Chelsea’s favorite aspects of coaching include supporting athletes as they develop new skills, reach their full potential, and come together to celebrate team accomplishments. She is especially passionate about fostering a growth mindset in her athletes, helping them build resilience and letting their individual personalities shine.
Abby, a First Grade teacher at Dryden Elementary School, will be coaching her third year at Prospect High School. Cheerleading has been her passion since the second grade, and her favorite parts are football games and watching the athletes compete. She is thrilled to witness each athlete’s growth, both individually and as a team, this season! In her free time, she enjoys crafting, planning parties, and spending time with her adorable golden retrievers!
Kristina is a 2016 PHS alum who participated in cheerleading all four years. She is a Staff Attorney with Chicago Public Schools, and in her free time, she enjoys trying out new hobbies and going to the movies. Kristina has been volunteer coaching with Prospect for two years and has absolutely loved coming back to her roots and helping out with the program.
Kaydence cheered at Conant High School all four years and was a varsity captain her senior year. She cheered for a total of 12 years and "loved every single second of it." In her free time, she loves to go on walks with her dog and spend time with her family and friends. Her favorite part of cheerleading is seeing how happy athletes get when they accomplish something they have been working towards. She "can’t wait to be a part of such an incredible program!"
Jeni has been coaching for six years, with experience in cheerleading, dance, and softball. She is currently an 8th-grade Special Education Math teacher and is in her ninth year of teaching, six of which were spent in the high school setting. Outside of coaching and teaching, Jeni enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two-year-old daughter. She also loves doing Pilates and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. Jeni’s favorite part of coaching cheerleading is watching her athletes shine on the competition floor and seeing them grow into the best versions of themselves—both on and off the mat. Being her first season volunteering with the Knights, she is excited for a fun and rewarding season ahead!
