You must be an incoming freshman, or current 9th-11th grader at Prospect Highschool
You must have a valid physical on file with the Prospect Athletics Office (winter season only)
You must attend at least 1 open gym, and the tryout date
There are no formal requirements to make Prospect Cheerleading. Our ideal athlete is coachable, focused on good technique, and looking to have fun. Some of our best athletes have come in with no cheerleading experience but work hard and are willing to make changes! April tryouts are in order to make the cheerleading program only. Summer camp dates are when decisions on varsity vs. jv teams will be made.
Tumbling is not a tryout or program requirement, but it is a part of cheerleading. In order to make varsity, a clean (excellent technique) running or standing back tuck is typically required. All athletes on the cheerleading program will be expected to attend tumbling outside of cheerleading practices to work on technique and acquiring new skills.
Teams have been selected for the 2024-2025 competition season.
Please reach out to Coach Rosin (shelby.rosin@d214.org) if you are interested in tryouts for the 2025-2026 season.
