Home of the Debbie Prezemble Chapter

Our National Honor Society chapter is named for a former student of Buffalo Grove High School, Debbie Prezemble. Debbie was an extraordinary student who was actively involved in National Honor Society and the school at large. Highly respected and loved by her teachers and peers, Debbie shined above many. Unfortunately, she was stricken with cancer and had to battle against it during her high school years. Refusing to give in to her illness, she remained as active as she could within the school and community. Her goal was to graduate and receive her high school diploma. However, Debbie’s illness took a turn for the worse and she was confined to the hospital as graduation approached. Dr. Christianson, BG’s principal at the time, was able to present Debbie with her diploma in the hospital. Debbie passed away a few days later. A devoted and enthusiastic scholar, Debbie achieved her goal of graduating through perseverance and hope, and it is because of this attitude that we have named our National Honor Society Chapter after Debbie Prezemble. We should all be driven to be the best that we can be, despite any obstacles that may stand in our way.
