The week your child is the STAR student:
We will celebrate a new "Star Preschooler" each week. Please refere to the calendar link for when your child is scheduled to be our Star of the Week. The "Star" will help with our daily calendar, flash the lights for clean-up and have a special "spotlight" on them each day.
Mondays: "All About ME" - We will read over the child's first 2 star student slides
Wednesdays: "WOW, Look What I Brought" - Child will show & tell 2-3 things
Fridays: FAVorite Things - We will read over the child's favorite things slide
Please click on the "Childrens Google Folder" button to open the folder that houses your childs folder. This is where you will find your child's star student slides, beginning information sheet, and where you should upload a summer photo of your child.
All children MUST submit a copy of current immunizations to the folder - linked below:
BEHAVIOR CHART IMPLEMENTATION
We are implementing a “Green-Great Day / Yellow-Warning / Red-Sit and Think About It” card system. Each preschooler has their own set of cards on a classroom chart. I went over the rules of the rug (a song your child might sing at home) and discussed that we need to sit like a pretzel, quietly and raise our hand when we want to talk. We discussed keeping our hands to ourselves and participating in the lessons when asked to.
I explained to the preschoolers how the cards work:
Everyone remains on Green, and if they can’t follow the rules (after 2 warnings) we (child and teacher) will move the card to Yellow as a warning. Should they continue the behavior while on Yellow, then they will move to Red and sit in a time out (time=age).
