Jaden's Bio
Hi! My name is Jaden Hui! I am a 17 year old Junior with cool, totally not annoying 3 sisters (I’m kidding! Only sometimes). I like to draw, play video games, like Fortnite, and watch tv shows and movies. I also sometimes like to read and I can solve a rubix cube, which I figured out from lots of youtube tutorials. I have really cool and nice friends, my favorite foods consist mainly of chicken and steak, and my all time favorite movie is Ratatouille.
Unfortunately, I am not like other kids, and I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Basically, the reason that I am in a wheelchair and why I cannot stand up. Fortunately, I don’t let it stop me from being happy and having a great life! Besides, scientists are getting closer to finding a cure for me and other boys like me, so it’s something to look forward to! I am so excited to be part of the Tiger News and become the school's movie critic! After all, I am a big movie buff and I do love some fun movies!
“In "Thunderbolts*," Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes -- Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it's too late?” (rottentomatoes.com). This is all the information that I am going to give you guys about this movie as this a spoiler-free review.
Now, when I first heard the development of this movie, it didn’t really interest me, even though I am a huge fan of the Marvel movies. In fact, I still wasn’t even interested when the trailers and promotion began to come out and this movie felt like a pretty pass for me. However, my attitude towards this film changed as I started to see the reviews that were coming from this movie. They said that the movie was really good and heartfelt and that it was one of the best Marvel movies in a while. So after hearing all of that buzz, I decided to go watch it and give it a chance… and man was it amazing! I must say, this was one of the best marvel movies yet! Although it wasn’t your typical superhero movie, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
When it comes to the story of this movie, it was pretty good! Characters had enough screen time to be fleshed out and have great character development, and it wasn’t too overstuffed and convoluted. The pacing of this movie was also pretty good but some parts of the movie seemed to go by a little too fast for my liking and I feel like this movie could have been just a teensy bit longer.
Not only was this movie great storytelling-wise but it was also amazing humor-wise! There were many funny jokes throughout the movie, and quite a few of them made me chuckle. However, there was one character that made me chuckle the most, and that character was Red Guardian! He is so unserious in this sort of more serious toned movie, and he just always seems to be having a good time throughout the movie, and it was so fun to watch in the theaters.
There were lots of emotions within this movie too! Some scenes were so emotional that they almost made me tear up because of the characters and their sad pasts and stories. There were also some wholesome moments in the movie between characters that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
All in all, I’d say that this movie was a pleasant surprise and that it succeeded in giving me a good time. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who is into movies about underdogs and superheroes, and I give this movie 4.6 out of 5 tiger paws! Well, that’s all for now, so I’ll catch you fellow tiger later in my next review! Bye!

March Madness Movie Bracket 2025
Hi Tigers! I have come up with this idea for March, and it is based on March Madness, except for movies!
Fill out this Google Form to vote for the first round!
"Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway's The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart. The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but profound friendship. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Glinda's unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power, while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself, and to those around her, will have unexpected and shocking consequences on her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West" (RottenTomatoes.com). This is all that I am going to tell you guys about this movie as usual since I make spoiler-free movie reviews. This was one of those movies where I was not really interested in the movie at first. I thought it was kind of cool, but when I saw that it was going to be in two parts, I was like no thank you. However, when the movie came out, I slowly started to hear people really liking Wicked and saying that the performances were great. I even heard people who say they don't like musicals like it!
However, unfortunately I still didn't really care for the movie. Fortunately, my mom and sisters went to go see it, and they really liked it! So finally, after a long time of not watching it, I watched it at home with my family sometime before the New Year... and let me tell you that this movie most definitely 'Defied Gravity'!
This movie had really great set pieces and the special effects were great! Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were great as Glinda The Good and The Wicked Witch of The West, especially Cynthia! Her performance and singing were top-notch and I'm not gonna lie, some of the high notes she sang made me emotional because it was so good!
However, I do admit that the run time of this movie felt like it was going to be forever at 2 hours and 40 minutes! But, this movie made that runtime feel super fast, which was a good and bad thing. It was a good thing because I didn't get bored and was intrigued, but it was a bad thing because this movie was part 1 of 2! The second one doesn't even come out til next November! Can't it get here any sooner? I really want to know what happens in the end!
All in all, Wicked was an enjoyable outing and was a really great musical. I should mention that I love musicals and have seen some before this movie, so that's why I really enjoyed this movie! I would recommend this movie to people who love theatre and are theatre kids because after all, this movie is based on a musical. I will give this movie 4.4 out of 5 tiger paws! I really hope that you guys will give this movie a shot if you have the chance, and I'll catch you guys next time! Bye!
"Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet." (RottenTomatoes.com), and this is all that you're going to know about this movie tigers as this is a spoiler-free Review. Now, this movie was one of the most anticipated movies of this year for me as it has been 2 years since the last Sonic movie, and man those 2 years were so long! So when the day came to see this movie, which happened to be on Christmas Eve, it felt so unreal to me.
I was both excited and nervous for this movie, as I saw spoiler-free reviews beforehand and was debating whether or not this movie would be for me. However, this movie annihilated all of those jitters and fears and replaced them with utter excitement and the urge to pass out... and guys... I am not kidding when I say that this was probably one of my favorite Christmas presents ever for my Christmas of 2024!
This movie is everything I could've asked for and is a great treat for Sonic fans! It had lots of screen time for him and his friends, great CGI, action-packed, and filled with heart! Shadow was easily the best character in this movie and was so cool! Especially you people who are fans of the games with him in it, you guys will eat this movie up with his scenes!
The humor was also really great in this movie, mainly thanks to Jim Carrey, who plays Dr. Robotnik and his grandfather in this movie, so technically, we get two Jims' in this movie! He absolutely killed it, with almost anything being done by him really funny and laughable! I do admit though that sometimes the humor did get a bit much in certain areas of this movie, but that doesn't take my enjoyment away from this movie.
This movie was also very wholesome and had lots of heart! Sonic's relationship with his human friends and alien friends are all very sweet, and Shadow's moments are very sweet but sad at the same time. You really do care for him and understand the reason why he is the way he is in them movie and it was just done so well. There was also one moment near the end of the movie that had me a little choked up and I almost cried!
In the end, this movie was such a treat and is an amazing movie that you guys should consider watching with your family. However, if I had to specifically recommend this movie to someone, I would have to recommend it to people who love Sonic The Hedgehog and have played the games because this movie is a love letter to those people. I'll have to give this movie 5 out of 5 tiger paws! I really hope you guys liked this movie review, and I'll see y'all later! Gotta Go Fast!

“The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot--ROZZUM unit 7134, "Roz" for short -- that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling” (RottenTomatoes.com), and that is the summary of this movie without giving you fellow tigers the whole movie as this is a spoiler-free review. Now, I have read the book that this movie is based on around the middle of elementary school, and I loved it a bunch! So when I heard that there was going to be a movie adaption, I was beyond excited. Not only did this book mean so much to me, but the author of this book is known by one of my uncles!!
As the movie got closer, I started to hear lots of praise for the movie. I heard it had great animation and humor, and especially was so emotionally impactful on its audience. The time then came for me and my family to finally experience this movie, and man were those reviews not wrong at all!
First of all, this movie was absolutely amazing and beautiful to look at, almost looking like those hand painted pictures in children's books if they were alive. The character designs were really close to how they looked in the book, and the backgrounds were really nice as well.
This movie was also really funny and surprisingly had a lot of dark humor that really matched the environment the characters were in and was sad but true to reality. I am also proud to report that there are no fart jokes and potty humor and that there is not that much cringe! One Joke was so funny that I was laughing out loud!
Now comes the emotional scenes in the movie. This movie is about parenting and the relationship between the gosling and Roz is very wholesome and sweet. There were a multitude of moments in this movie where I almost cried! My sisters ended up crying though! The emotional performance of the actors and the music really helped put that effect on the audience.
Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to answer this very debated question: Is the movie or the book better? Honestly, if I had a say in it, both the movie and the book can be good despite differences between the two. After all, that is why these movies are called book adaptations since they take the most important scenes over some of the minor scenes in the book. However, its okay if you like the book over the movie, but I’d say try to give both a chance before thinking either is better than the other.
If I had to recommend this movie to someone, I would recommend it to people who have kids of their own because this film will especially be very special for them and will mean so much to them. All in all I would rate this movie 5 out 5 tiger paws! I really do think that this is the best animated movie of the year and I think you guys will thoroughly enjoy it with your families. Thank you for reading tigers, I’ll catch you on the flip side!

“Transformers One is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever” (RottenTomates.com). This is what the summary of the movie is without spoiling the movie as this review is spoiler free if any of you ever want to check this movie out for yourself! As a Transformers fan, I was really excited for this movie to come out, and when the movie trailer came out, I was one of the very few people who thought this trailer was pretty great, unlike most people who thought it looked too childish. But, I still really hoped that the movie would prove them wrong and wouldn’t be a terrible movie, and, after coming out of the movie theaters… My hopes were answered and this movie rocked!
This movie has everything a Transformers fan could ask for, and I think non-Transformers fans will love it too! The story was really good and fleshed out without any of those pesky humans in the previous movies. It had great character arcs and was one of the most emotional Transformers movies that I have seen so far! It was also engaging and kept me glued to the screen for most of it.
Not only was the story good, but the voice acting was really great! Chris Hemsworth is a great Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, and Brian Tyree Henry was a fantastic D-16/Megatron (Orion Pax and D-16 are the younger visions of Optimus Prime and Megatron). You could really tell that they really were getting into character throughout the movie!
The movie was also pretty funny! Although some people think that the comedy was corny, I thought it was pretty good… for the most part. There was one joke THAT WAS OVERUSED TO THE POINT WHERE IT ALMOST WAS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE! …
…I still found it a little bit funnier than others did.
If I had to recommend this movie to someone, I would recommend it to die hard Transformers Fans as they’ll love to easter eggs and references in this movie.
As for my rating of this movie, I give it… wait for it… 4.5 out 5 tiger paws! I really hope that you guys check out this masterpiece of a Transformers movie that is definitely not directed by Michael Bay. Thank you so much for reading my fellow tigers, and I’ll catch you later!

“Deadpool's peaceful existence comes crashing down when the Time Variance Authority recruits him to help safeguard the multiverse. He soon unites with his would-be pal, Wolverine, to complete the mission and save his world from an existential threat”(RottenTomatoes.com) This is all I am gonna give about the plot of the movie without spoiling anything for you fellow tigers. This is so if this review makes you interested, you can go watch it with a clean slate! (You’re welcome). Anyway, as this movie wasslowly and slowly getting closer, I somehow found myself really getting excited and nervous for this movie. I was excited because I love Deadpool and Marvel, but I was also nervous that this movie wasn’t going to deliver and would be . However, my nervousness… was completely proved wrong and thrown out the window!
Now, this movie was pretty amazing, but, what do I think about the story? This question has always been asked by everybody whether or not a movie has a good or bad storyline, but for this movie, the story is definitely there and for me… it works pretty darn well! Sure it might be a little weird at first, but in the end, it had a good lesson and really kept me staring at the screen and took me away from my popcorn.
So along with a great story comes great actors, and this movie also delivered on that part too! Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman both did a phenomenal job playing Deadpool and Wolverine, their respective roles, and everybody else did a great job too! Now I got you thinking, why did you not mention the other actors names? I chose not to name them because most of them are cameos, and that is a no-no because it is spoilers, and I don’t want to ruin the possible surprises in this movie for you fellow tigers. You’ll thank me later. Possibly. Maybe. Hopefully?
Moving on, this movie was super funny! I was laughing at most of the jokes cracked by the characters, one character had a great character arc, and the opening to this movie was sooo entertaining and hilarious. Man, it was such a great experience at the theaters for my 2024 summer!
If I had to recommend this movie to someone, I would 100% recommend this movie to people who love superhero, action, and comedy related movies, cause this movie has all of it! So if you’re one of these people, and you have the chance to watch this movie, go watch it! It’s worth it, 100%!
Finally, for my rating of this movie fellow tigers, I hereby rate this masterpiece… drumroll, please… 5 out of 5 Tiger Paws! I really hope my movie review helped give you guys an option for a future movie night and a chance to have a blast. That was all I had to say for this movie review, so thank you for reading fellow tigers, and be on the lookout for my next movie review! Jaden Hui out!
Timothee Chalamet plays Willy Wonka in this new iteration of the character
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ .7
Which Willy Wonka iteration do you like best? Chalamet or WIlder?
Wonka is a 2023 musical film about Willy Wonka(TImothee Chalamet)’s origin story and how he started off before building his chocolate factory and the journey he went through to get there. Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, on the other hand, is about a boy named Charlie, who and other kids got golden tickets for a chance to win ownership over Willy Wonka(Gene Wilder)’s Chocolate Factory. That’s pretty much the premise of both of these films without giving you any spoilers. This is also a spoiler free review by the way, so if you want to check this movie out yourself after reading this review, be free to do as you please!
Before I actually review this movie, I wanted to say that first, the trailers for this movie didn’t really sell me on watching. This is because I thought it was going to not be as good as the original, and that it would be pretty meh. However, to my surprise, it was actually really well made!
Starting off, we have Timothee Chalamet as the titular character of Willy Wonka, and I gotta to say to you guys, he does an amazing job for his iteration of the character. He basically looks like a younger version of Gene Wilder, he does great in playing into the character, and he is just a very likable person in this movie. I also happened to end up really liking the songs in the movie. They had good rhythms, they had lots of rhymes too!
Now you may be wondering: how does the story go? Well, this movie has a very heartwarming and heartfelt plot, there are good and funny characters along the way, and overall just a very solid story. But you now may be wondering, how does this compare and contrast to the old. Well, for starters, the storylines are very different even though that kind of makes sense here, and the personalities of Willy Wonka are very stark and noticeable. However, the whimsical feeling and chocolate-like wonder is still intact in both movies, and they are equally fun and quirky. Although there may be a few differences between the two films, the newer prequel of a film pays a lot of respect and reverence to the original Gene Wilder version by mainly using a well-known song from that movie (Hint: it’s about imagination).
At the end of the day, I honestly really loved this movie and one part almost made me cry! It has become one of the best movies for 2023 to me personally, and I would have to rate it a top 5 on my list of movies. Now for the reveal you’ve all been waiting for… I declare that this movie to be 4.7 out of 5 tiger paws! A certified good time with the family! Welp, that’s all I have got for now, my fellow tigers. Be on the lookout for more reviews from your’s truly in the future. Bye!
