Winterguard is an activity for color guard performers to continue advancing skills, learning a show, and making more memories in the winter months. Unlike in the fall, there is no marching band associated with the color guard's performance. Instead, students perform on a themed tarp in a gym to recorded audio. Convergence Winterguard is an Independent program, meaning students ages 14-21 from any school or district can participate. Since its creation in 2013, Convergence has welcomed students from the high schools of Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South, Prairie Ridge, Cary Grove, Huntley, Mount Prospect, and McHenry County College and Northern Illinois University.
