FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What should I do if I have to miss a general meeting?
A. Email the PT Eboard ASAP of your absence in order to receive the EdPuzzle link to make up the meeting. Additionally, pick up the EdPuzzle worksheet that goes along with the video in room 2506. Please ensure that you inform us of your absence at least 24 hours in advance. Absences not communicated in advance will not be eligible to complete the EdPuzzle.
Q. What should I do if the adult tutor for my content area is not present?
A. Check in with another adult tutor. Tutor at your regular content area table and make sure to fill out the Peer Tutors Student Sign-In Sheet
Q. How do missing shifts work?
A. You can have up to 2 excused absences by filling out the Missing Shift Form prior to missing your shift. After 2 excused absences, you must still fill out the Missing Shift Form and then tutor an additional shift (you must reach out to your Content Director to schedule the additional shift). Alternatively, you can submit a study guide or video to the Content Database.
Q. What if I am missing a shift due to a Non-Attendance Day?
A. You do not need to fill out the Missing Shift Form, and you do not need to make up the shift
Q. If it is a Late Arrival Day and I tutor before school, what time is my shift?
A. Your shift is excused, unless you are told otherwise by your content director.
Q. If it is a Late Arrival Day and I tutor during half-lunch, do I still tutor?
A. You do NOT have to tutor on Late Arrival Days if you usually tutor during a half period of lunch!
Q. How do I log my volunteer hours?
A. At the end of each semester, please join the Peer Tutors InnerView group in order to log all of your hours with a picture of yourself tutoring. Make sure your reflection is thorough–if you’re not sure what to write, here are some guiding questions!
What was your role as a tutor?
What new skills or strengths did you discover about yourself?
What was your impact on others?
How can you apply what you learned to other parts of your life?
Q. What if I want to change my tutoring area to a different content?
A. Email your current content area director and the director of your new content area to ask if this is possible!
