Program Information

Overview of Program

The Wauconda High School Band program consists of over 150 students in five different classes, including Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Percussion, and Advanced Percussion. Each group presents three formal concerts per year. In the Fall, all of the classes combine to perform together as part of the Marching Bulldogs. All students with previous instrumental music experience are welcomed in our program.

Additional Opportunities

Wauconda High School offers many extracurricular opportunities for instrumental music students. These opportunities include Jazz Band, Musical Pit Orchestra, and Pep Band. Each year, the bands work with guest clinicians and travel to festivals throughout the state. In previous years, the Wind Ensemble has participated in the Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival at Hersey High School. Individual students participate in the ILMEA District and State Band Festivals as well as in D118's Solo and Ensemble Festival.
