2026: The first race of the year is coming up fast on January 24th: the Noquemanon. The club is covering hotels on this one so the cost to travel will be $22. Fill out this google form before Wednesday the 21st if you are going to the Noquemanon on January 24th. Make sure you have signed up for the race itself too since it filled up early last year! The MCSA scored race is the 24k classic or skate.
We will be leaving after school on the 23rd and taking UMD's sprinter van (15 people) and multiple personal vehicles. We'll stop for supper on the way there (probably just at a gas station so you could pack a supper instead if you want), have breakfast at the hotel, race, and stop somewhere to eat for lunch before heading home. If a few people want, one or two vehicles could stay for awards but those people would also want to stop for supper on the way home. The Noque does have some aid stations along the course. Check the Noque website for more race details.
The Noquemanon was the second race canceled in 2025 due to a lack of snow, but we still made the best of the weekend. We planned to ski on the gunflint, but after some vehicle troubles we ended up skiing in two harbors and Duluth, finally barely getting the van up the hill back to school.
The Noquemanon ski marathon is held in Marquette MI on January 24th, 2026.
Cost of race is $55 until Oct 31
The collegiately scored race is either the classic or skate 24k
This is the 1st MCSA scored race so you will be racing against college skiers and citizen racers!
For MCSA members there is a discounted rate (Yes, you have to be signed up for MCSA)
Email the ski club for the link to the discounted signup once you are signed up for USCSA
We will rideshare out to Marquette on Friday afternoon and stay in a hotel on Friday night (the club pays for the hotel, you just have to pay club dues).
Saturday is race day and then after the race we head home to Duluth!
