Our lab is interested in engaging, informing, and inspiring public, K-12 students, and water professionals for clean water and public health.

The Lake Superior Youth Symposium takes place at UMD from May 16-19, 2019. Students in grades 7-12 are joining us for a weekend packed with amazing activities.

Extraction Escapade Explore the UMD campus to collect environmental samples and extract the samples’ DNA. Then we’ll discuss how studying DNA and environmental forensics is important in regards to water resources. Thank Lisa, Tyler, and Adelle for volunteering.

The Lake Superior Regional Citizen Science Collaborative (LSRCSC)

LSRCSC seeks to identify citizen science efforts and opportunities in the Western Lake Superior Region in order to create an opportunity for communication and collaboration among researchers, educators and volunteers who want to engage in citizen science in our region.
