Do I have to use the Education version of Minecraft?

Yes!

Do I use creative or survival?

You can use both creative and survival.

I don't have a login to Minecraft Education, can I still enter?

Unfortunately, NO - this is up to your school to implement for you before you can participate.

If you want to get your class or school correctly set up so they can use their logins, then give Cyclone a call and for a small cost, we can get your school sorted.

If you are a Microsoft school, you may already have access to it, or your school might just need to apply for and attach the free licences to your accounts. It comes "at no cost to you" with your schools Microsoft licensing thanks to the MOE paying for it.

If you're a Google school, Cyclone can get you setup with Single Sign On, which let your students login via their Google Account. The Minecraft EE software itself is free, however to get your logins setup, there is a small cost as there's a bit of background work to get it going.

Can we use code?

We would love you to use code if you can. But you don't have to if you can't.

Can I use terraforming?

Yes . Essentially the thing to remember is that it's the Flipgrid video (2mins long), that we judge (not the actually MEE world) and all students need to show these criteria https://sites.google.com/cyclone.co.nz/minecraft-competition/criteria?authuser=0. That will be a challenge if you do too much or want to show us everything . The email went out to 1800+ schools, so you will have to try make your submission different.
