Databases & Subscriptions

These are resources that are available because the school, district, SU, or state of Vermont pays for them. The resources here will not show up in a regular Google search because they are only available to subscribers. Some will need log-in credentials; if you don't have the username & password yet, they are in the document linked below. (You have to be logged into your school account to access it.)

This document has the information NMHS students need for accessing subscription resources. If you are trying to access something that is not listed, please ask Mrs. Kissel for help.

The Vermont Online Library (VOL) offers a wide array of electronic databases on a variety of topics. It is available to you 24/7, anywhere you have internet access.

The VOL is open to anyone in Vermont; as long as you are in the state, you should not need a password to access it. If you need the out-of-state password, ask Mrs. Kissel.

Britannica School is the online version of Encyclopedia Britannica. Get great information on your topic and even suggestions for websites. Citing your source is simple, too! (Citations are provided and you can copy & paste them into NoodleTools.)

You do not need any log-in information to access it while you are at NMHS; if you plan to access it outside of school, make sure to get the username and password from Mrs. Kissel.

NoodleTools keeps your source citations (and even your notes) organized for your research projects and assignments. Sign in using your school Google account.
