The Brown Public Library, as a member of the Green Mountain Library Consortium, provides a downloadable e-book and audio book service for library patrons. You'll need your Brown Public Library card number to download books. You will also need the free app (Sora or Libby) to download and listen to the books on your phone or other device.
To log in, use your library card number; the password is the last 4 digits of the library card number.
Sound too good to be true? Most audiobooks that are available for free legally are either in the public domain or have a Creative Commons license. If you like classics, or if a book you are reading in English class is available for free, this is good news for you!
FreeClassicAudioBooks downloads are available in mp3 and (most) in m4b audio book format.
Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format.

At first glance, Soundcloud looks like a site strictly for music, but there are audiobooks available, too.
