Hello Families,

        I am so very excited to be welcoming your child as a student in my first-grade class for the 2023-2024 school year.

This coming year will be my eleventh year teaching at Shelburne Community School. I feel very fortunate to be spending time with children each day, sharing in their tremendous sense of wonder and curiosity at the world around them. In our classroom there will be singing, laughing, reading, drawing, writing, working with numbers, and investigating, all the while finding the joy in learning.

        While I am originally from Chicago, my husband and I moved to Vermont from Boston in 1989. We reside in Essex, and have three sons, two of them living in Stockholm, Sweden, and one in Denver, CO. 

        In my free time, I enjoy baking bread, exploring new music, getting lost in a good book or movie, gardening, trying a new craft, and spending time with family and friends.

        I am looking forward to this upcoming school year of living, working, growing, learning and teaching in the company of your children. More details about our year together will follow. In the meantime, enjoy your summer – fall will be here before you know it!
