Welcome Back HCS Families
The start of another school year has arrived! We hope everyone enjoyed a spectacular and summery Labor Day weekend. Our PiE Co-chairs, Kathleen and Jill, loved seeing all the HCS families, new and seasoned, at the Ice Cream Social last week. This newsletter will cover a few upcoming events and dates to remember and we hope to meet many more of you at the next PiE meeting on September 19th in the HCS Flex Space!
As you may already know, fundraising is a big part of what the PiE Committee focuses on, and last year's efforts were epic. The return of the Family Dance, various local take-out nights, Meadow Farms (wrapping paper for dayyyyysss!!), Family Movie Night and a fantastic turnout for Hinesburg Night at the Lake Monters Game in June made for a very successful year of both fundraising and community building.
As always, PiE is looking for more volunteers to help execute all of these great school events! If you're interested in getting involved in any way to help reach our annual fundraising goals and organize community events, please let us know by emailing hcspie@cvsdvt.org

PiE’s mission is to develop and nurture a strong partnership between families and the school. We are committed volunteers who partner to support the intellectual, physical, and social development of all HCS students.
Get involved! We have regular General Meeting that are open to anyone in the HCS community. We discuss updates from the Steering Committee, upcoming news and events, as well provide a space for parents to be heard and become involved with PiE and HCS.
We will be meeting Quarterly (September, November, February, May) The meeting time is 6:30-7:30pm. Meetings will be held in the Flex-Space at HCS.

"I wanted to take a moment to thank the PiE community for the wonderful tradition of donating a book to the library in honor of those departing HCS. In addition, I wanted to extend my gratitude for ALL the activities and ways PiE contributes to the HCS community. It has also been heartwarming to be treated so special during Teacher Appreciation Week. I have been enriched by your support and generosity throughout my time at HCS!"

General PiE Meeting: Tuesday, Septemeber 19th @ 6:30-7:30 pm in the Flex Space (Everyone is welcome!)
Grant Proposals Due: October 15th
2023-24 PiE Grant Progam
Each fall PiE conducts a grant application/review process to award funding for special projects. PiE Grants will be accepted until October 15th this year. Staff, teachers and families are eligible to submit an application, which will be available soon! We know fall is a busy time for teachers and staff getting back into the swing of things, but we hope you'll take a few minutes to check it out and submit and application if you have a special project idea in mind!

The PiE Grant Review Committee would love another volunteer (or two!) this fall. Email hcspie@cvsdvt.org if you're interested in being involved with the grant process or have any questions. Thanks!
Online HCS Merch Store Coming Soon!!
Thanks to a couple of savvy PiE volunteers, an online HCS Apparel Store will be live between September 11th- September 22nd. There will be lots of items, including hats, sweathshirts, t-shirts, travel mugs, fleece and performance vests. Keep an eye out for separate communication from PiE with more details on what is available and how to order!
PiE was able to contribute $5,000 in direct funds back to HCS for teachers to use to help fund field trips throughout the year!
