There are a variety of opportunities for you to get involved. Whether you're looking for ongoing opportunities or more of a one-and-done event, we have something for everyone!

PiE participates in several fundraisers that require little effort from parents but can earn BIG money for PiE, we call them "Free Money" fundraisers. These fundraisers include Box Tops, Amazon Smile, Hannafords Helps Schools, Mabel's Labels and the Healthy Living give back program to name a few.
We are looking for a person, or two, to set up these online programs at the start of the year, periodically communicate to families how they work, and check in with the companies to ensure the programs are working.
Communication includes making sure the PiE site info is up to date and that parents are reminded to participate in programs. These are established programs but there is room to add new ones and grow their overall contribution.
This role requires detailed organization, online work and email communication. It does not require attending meetings.
This team will create the annual PiE student directory which lists student and parent contact information by class. Families will have the opportunity to opt-in to have their contact informtaion available in this handy resource which is made available free to all families.
This role requires knowledge of google docs and attention to detail. You will also need to coordinate printing the pages and stapling them into books which can be done at school.
The Directory is a program we are working to bring back to our wonderful families. We would love your help in connecting families.
Create fun and informative bulletin boards highlighting the latest PiE or school news. Changes 6-7 times throughout the year with information supplied by the PiE Steering Committee Secretary.
If you are looking for a creative outlet and like to be in the know, this job is for you!
This is a new, constantly-evolving committee. The goal is to work to maximize the amazing outdoor space we are blessed to have. Especially given our current environment, let's work together to get our kids outside as much as possible!
Contact either the school or the HCS Chair for more information.
The PiE Garden Team (PGT) maintains a 20+ raised bed garden at HCS. The garden provides a “living classroom” environment that connects students to the natural world. In addition, the garden serves as a small, supplemental source of fresh vegetables to our school’s cafeteria.
Garden Team volunteers are needed to:
Connect the garden to current curriculum
Deepen the garden-to-cafeteria connection
Work with students on garden projects
Help maintain the garden (start seeds, plant, water, weed, harvest, etc)
Help maintain garden equipment (clean and organize shed, clean seed-starting equipment, etc)
Carry out administrative tasks (purchase of supplies, scheduling, record-keeping)
In October, Farm to School month, the garden team will develop an annual plan to support the garden so that it can sustain as a permanent school program.
Hours are flexible: not all volunteers must be “active” at all times of the year. Tasks may be year-round (i.e., planning), season-intensive (i.e., weeding/watering) or one-time events (i.e., Seed and Sample Day, clean-up days).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
