In September 2022, CVSD underwent a district-wide equity audit with Mass Insight Education & Research with the following objectives:
1.) Gather information about the district’s current strengths and areas for growth relative to diversity, equity, and inclusive practices and policies.
2.) Prompt reflective conversations about the current status of inclusive and equitable learning practices and environments compared to its desired state.
3.) Identify opportunities to improve equitable practices throughout the district by providing recommendations designed to focus attention and resources to fully support its diverse students, staff, and community.
1.) Build a shared understanding of and investment in CVSDs vision for equity in order to build a vision and theory of action for equity within the district.
2.) Conduct a review of the district’s existing data governance in order to inform both the strategic planning process and the district’s strategic priorities related to data governance.
3.) Prioritize the operationalization of internal district functions to effectively meet the needs of schools, students and the CVSD strategic priorities.
4.) Prioritize ongoing stakeholder engagement opportunities as monitoring, assessment, and accountability structures aligned with the identified strategic objectives and priorities.
Each year, the Student & Community Engagement Team celebrates the many cultures of our community.
At these in-person events, we learn the history of the various communities in Vermont. There will be shared cultural experiences, including art, food, and conversations about educational experiences. At each gathering various groups, community members, and stakeholders will present about their lives, work, and contributions to our state.
