Advisory meets every day in order to provide increased support and intentionality around community building, story development, and how to have important conversations. Because of the increased focus on advisory, advisors will have additional supports through Co-Advisory Time, Engage Team Time, and from the Coordinators.
Executive Functioning
On Mondays, advisory focuses on getting grounded in the week and doing some initial planning. Advisors help students think about what their week looks like and plan for their C3 time. As the year continues, other planning tools may be introduced during this time.
Circle Days
We use circles to connect through shared commitment—both to the routine and to each other. Advisors schedule one circle a week. The topics and structures for these circles will be previewed, discussed, and practiced during Engage Time.
Celebrations & Reflections
Each Friday, advisors lead advisees through reflective and celebratory activities to build SEL skills and community. For the first quarter, the C3 Friday time is an extended advisory used to begin building and personalizing student portfolios based on these celebrations and reflections.
