The focus in Design Tech is on the Design Thinking Process. This year we will be learning about programming physical objects using the Micro:bit. Each student will receive a kit with materials to be able to do these hands-on activities at home. I can't wait to see what you all create!
I have been teaching in Williston for 20 years. I have taught in primary classrooms and have also taught Math Intervention 1st-6th grade. Six years ago I started teaching Design Technology at Williston Central School. With Design Technology I am able to combine science, math, technology, art, and problem solving into open-ended projects. I am so excited to be able to share some new experiences with students across CVSD through the Virtual Learning Academy!
Outside of teaching, I love learning new skills and art techniques. This summer I starting learning how to do copper enameling. I have two teenage daughters who keep me very busy with their interests. My older daughter is an equestrian, so we spend many days at the stable and horse competitions. My younger daughter is very involved in musical theater, so I get to enjoy seeing her many performances with her school and local theater companies.
