Learning to code in Python is offered free to all 4th and 5th grade students. We use the Codesters platform which lets students create interactive projects in Python. The "drag-to-text" toolkit guides students through text-based coding, while engaging them with sprites and animations.

Code Club is offered free to all fourth grade students. We use the programs offered through code.org that use the "Blockly" programming language which teaches the underlying concepts in programming through the manipulation of blocks of logic that when stacked together in a particular order, move a character around a scene or draw a shape.

Code.org is launching Code Break — an interactive classroom with weekly challenges to engage students of all abilities, even those without computers. Tune in with students to join Code.org founder Hadi Partovi, special guests, and Code.org's best teachers to learn different computer science concepts. All ages are welcome. You can use your existing Code.org account (sign in below) and Zoom to attend the weekly Wednesday meeting at 10am. Click on the link to the left to be connected to the Code Break page where you can get more info including links to previous Code Break sessions.
