Berkeley Art Museum
One of the pieces featured in the art tour we enjoyed that morning.
On March 26th, 2025 Students from Castro Valley High School were treated to an Architectural Tour of the Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archives. Highlights included a guided tour of some of the art being featured that day. After lunch, students got to meet the architects who actually designed and remodeled the existing building into what it is today. B.A.M.F.A. is a jewel of a small museum with features our students will consider when they design their own museums upon returning from Spring Break.
The North side of the building features a large screen for projecting images and advertising upcoming events.
Another outstanding feature is the stage area used for performances and presentations. More features can be found at this site: Stunning New Berkeley Art Museum
Our Civil Engineering and Architecture students presented their Museum Designs at Gensler Architects in Oakland. The event took place May 22, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A good time was had by all.
Each year the seniors in the Engineering Capstone course, Engineering Design and Development, have an opportunity to visit and explore the LLNL. This year 27 students went to LLNL on December6, 2024 and explored the National Ignition Facility as well as the Advanced Manufacturing Lab. They afterwards had a lunch time opportunity to interview and ask young professionals any questions related to school, college, life and engineering careers.
