Unnatural Causes

UNNATURAL CAUSES draws attention to the root causes of illness, to reframe the health debate in America. The neighborhoods we live in, our access to resources, our tax policies – all have an impact on our health. Social inequities are not natural or inevitable, and changing policies and practices can improve outcomes - and lead to longer, healthier lives.

Panelists:

Aron O’Donnell is a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCSF, Division of HIV, Infectious Disease, and Global Medicine, whose current work is centered on the relationship between food security and health & well-being.


Georgia Schreiber is a Public Health Investigator with the Alameda County Public Health Department; her work includes acute communicable disease investigations, and the HIV linkage to care and partner services. Georgia works with individuals who have multiple challenges including mental illness, homelessness and marginal housing, or who are formerly incarcerated, to ensure they are connected to healthcare and supportive services.

 

Dot Theodore currently is Program Specialist at Alameda County Public Health, and focused on improving HIV care. Previously, she worked at La Clínica de la Raza, one of the largest non-profit community health centers in California, which serves the diverse east-bay communities through primary health care and other services.
