I’m so happy to serve the students and families of Canyon Middle School as a school social worker. I began my school social work career in 2006 in San Francisco, and after stepping away to be a full-time parent, I was thrilled to return to the field with Castro Valley Unified. Now in my fifth year at Canyon, I’m proud to have helped establish our Wellness Center and to support students and families as they navigate all things middle school. I’m also a proud spouse and parent, and feel grateful to call Castro Valley home.

Alexis King-Gallman, LCSW, PPSC

Hi, I’m Ms. Alexis, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Wellness Team at Canyon Middle School this year! For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a school social worker and clinician, supporting students in their growth and well-being. At Canyon, my role will focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions, helping students build skills in identifying feelings, developing coping strategies, and managing big emotions so they feel confident taking on challenges. I’ll also be supporting group spaces that highlight mental health, empowerment, and leadership. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two daughters and love spending time outdoors. I’m excited to learn, grow, and connect alongside our students, and to be part of the Canyon community! Please feel free to stop by the Wellness Center and say hi. I’d love to meet you.
