BOOK CARE
Store West Valley library books in a place safe from pets and very young children, and separate from public library books.
Here are ways to take care of your books while you are using them:
Handle books with clean hands.
Keep them off the floor or ground and do not leave them outdoors.
Keep them away from food, drink, art projects.
Do not write or draw in the book.
Turn pages carefully so you don't tear them.
Use a bookmark instead of dog-earing a page or leaving the book facedown somewhere.
Do not throw, drop or slam books, or dangle them by one cover.
Think twice before taking books on trips, some have been left in other countries!
Return West Valley library books ONLY to the West Valley School Library. Returns to other libraries result in substantial delays in clearing student records and may result in lost items.
LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS
If a West Valley library book is lost or damaged beyond repair, please send an explanatory note to the school library (along with the book, if damaged). Please do not try to repair the book yourself. Library items lost or damaged beyond repair will be billed.
Lost items can be paid for by cash or check made out to West Valley School. Library privileges will be suspended until overdues are resolved.
