Portfolio Requirements - DUE FRIDAY, MAY 10th


Reflection Example: The two pieces I chose from my reading section were first, my first write long, which was only a paragraph from Harry Potter and ...by.....My second piece was....In my first write long the strengths included....However, some needs were...Then in my later write long, some strengths included....However, some needs were...As I move in to 5th grade, I need to remember to focus on...


HOMEPAGE:

  1. The first text box on your homepage should be a brief welcome note to site visitors.
  2. At the bottom of your homepage, below your welcome note, please create and insert a Google Form to get feedback on your portfolio. Make sure you've shared your portfolio and the Google Form file with 'Cupertino Union School District' or, if possible, ‘anyone with the link can view’.


Writing

  • Choice Informational Essay (isopods, horses, pythons, etc.)
  • Zoo Opinion Essay
  • ALL poems (all poems should be on website and printed out/decorated by Fri., May 10th - printed ones needed so they can be bound into your book)
  • Literary Opinion Essay (Marble Champ, Fox, etc.)
  • Be the Change Essay
  • Greek Allusion Fictional Narrative
  • Multiple meaning word/one word 3 ways/”Vocab Lab” drawing
  • Word Nerd drawing
  • Sayings document (idioms, etc.) ADD TO THIS DOC: 3 favorite idioms (idiom + meaning)
  • Idiomizer (3 cartoons - if you hand drew this, you take a pic)

Writing Reflection:

Choose 2 writing pieces - one from earlier in the year, one from later - 1st describe what both pieces were, then describe the growth/improvement in your writing skills over time, followed by what you need to continue to work on as you move into 5th grade!!!

  • MASTER/MODEL Stop & Jot from your reader’s notebook (LITERARY TEXT) - the BEST POSSIBLE character trait inferring post-it you can type! (tell which book/author jot came from)
  • MASTER/MODEL response (R.A.P.S example) from ANY INFORMATIONAL TEXT - the BEST POSSIBLE response you can type! (tell which article/author jot came from)
  • Sentence Patterns document
  • Figurative Language document

Social Studies Reflection:

  • ALL speeches (Region, Science (Environments & Solid Earth...might be done with Mag./Elec.), Holiday/Tradition, Be The Change + Choice Speech or Best Part of Me Speech???)

Speech Reflection:

Write a short reflection of your speech/speaking skills over the course of this year. This includes not only your speaking skills during a speech, BUT ALSO DURING CLASS TIME. Reflection should include strengths and areas for growth as you move into 5th grade.
