About the Teacher:
- I'm a California native and have been living in the Bay Area for a decade.
- I moved across the country to swim competitively and earn my bachelor's degree from UMASS Amherst.
- After my stint on the East Coast, I returned to California to attend San Jose State University, where I earned my teaching credential.
- This year will be my 9th year of teaching 4th grade!
- I enjoy reading, watching movies, shopping, exercising, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.
Philosophy of Teaching
I firmly believe that every student has the ability and right to learn. As your child’s teacher, I believe it is my job to create a learning environment where students are active participants in learning and are continually challenged to do their best. My goal is to inspire a love for learning by providing a respectful, safe, and cooperative space; a place where productivity and ingenuity thrive. Throughout the year, we will work together to develop our growth mindsets --- the belief that achievements stem from dedication, hard work, and perseverance, while challenges and setbacks offer an opportunity to grow and stretch our current abilities.
